Living Coral is Pantone's Color of the Year for 2019 |

The Pantone Color InstituteTM has chosen PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral as its Color of the Year for 2019. The color has already begun popping up in wedding guides and interior design ideabooks. Landscape professionals with trend-watching clients may notice an increase in requests to incorporate this pink/orange hue into their designs.
According to Pantone Color Institute, Living Coral is “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” In landscapes, the color can be found in a variety of flowers such as roses or dahlias. For those looking for a North American native plant in this color family, PlantSelect’s Coral Baby penstemon and Snow Angel coral bells do well in Colorado climates. Living Coral is likely to be featured in elements of the landscape that outside of plant material: in containers, patio furniture and decorative elements in outdoor rooms.
