Governor Polis Issues Colorado Stay-at-Home order Email

Tonight Governor Jared Polis issued a Stay-at-Home Order for Colorado. It is important to note the following from the press conference today: 

  • The Colorado Stay-at-Home Order will take effect tomorrow, March 26, at 8:00 AM and is valid through April 11.
  • “This Order is Now the Law”.
  • The duration of the order could be shortened or lengthened.
  • Governor Polis signed a letter to President Trump asking for a disaster declaration for Colorado. Colorado would be joining a handful of states.
  • Colorado is near the top for COVID-19 cases per capita in the US
  • Roughly 15% of people tested have COVID-19
  • There is a ventilator shortage. There is a need for the private sector to be creative and try to help with any resources possible.
  • Testing has the following four functions: clinical testing, epidemiological, screening, and mass testing. We have not met
