Lifescape ColoradoDenver-based Lifescape Colorado took home the 2017 ELITE Award for Maintenance this year for their work on a project in Cherry Hills, Colorado, known as Georgian Charm. The project exemplifies the highest standards of landscape maintenance practices by following industry best management practices and principles of sustainable maintenance.

Maintenance is the ongoing effort that keeps beautiful installations looking their best and staying healthy for the long term. Solid maintenance practices honor the original design and are carried out in ways that protect and conserve natural resources. They follow best management practices and keep the built landscape viable over time.

Georgian Charm is a classic-style home with a landscape was co-designed by Lifescape Colorado and Atlanta-based landscape architects. Because the homeowners expect the property to be in pristine condition at all times, trained crews are on-site weekly to ensure that the client’s expectations are met and exceeded.

The landscape achieved sustainability goals by using mulching mowers, EvapoTranspiration (ET)-based irrigation, and use of organic fertilizer. Hydro-zoning and an IQ system allow Lifescape to use efficient irrigation and to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Judges noted that the boxwoods (a major focal point of the landscape) were well-trimmed and manicured and that the hardscape surfaces were beautifully installed. “It is very hard to say that this could be improved,” one said.
