National Collegiate Landscape Competition

Once again, Colorado State University represented the Centennial State well at the 2018 National Collegiate Landscape Competition earlier this month. CSU’s team placed fifth overall at the competition, which took place at Alamance Community College in North Carolina.

Individually, several students placed in the top ten in competitions:

  • Christopher Tragakes, who earned a scholarship at the event, placed sixth overall on the Superstar Report.
  • Tragakes tied for first place in Construction Cost Estimating.
  • Connor Burgwald placed fourth in Exterior Landscape Design.
  • Kelcie Van Treese took fifth place in Landscape Lighting.
  • Kelsie Cady earned second place for Sales Presentation.
  • Jordan Salsbury topped the Small Engine Repair competition with first place.
  • The team of Christopher Tragakes and Jordan Salsbury took second place in Wood Construction.
  • Kelsie Cady and Karen Lamb scored eighth in Employee Development.
  • Cady also earned third place for Interior Landscape Design.
  • Charlotte Li and Spencer Bernard were the second-place team in Irrigation Assembly
  • Carolin Sousa came in sixth in Maintenance Cost Estimating.

In 2019 the competition will return to Colorado when CSU will once again host the event in Fort Collins.
