SprinklerColorado Springs Utilities (CSU) will host two meetings in October to discuss their proposed changes to the water shortage ordinance. The changes address water waste and target outdoor water use, especially water use connected to landscape irrigation.

If enacted, the ordinance changes would establish landscape watering rules similar to those already in place for Denver Water customers: no watering between 10 AM and 6 PM from May 1 to October 15; not watering landscapes more than three days per week. There will also be fines for not repairing or shutting off damaged irrigation within ten days and for irrigation that sprays onto impervious surfaces or runs off into any drainage ways.

Read the full summary of all of the proposed changes.

The meetings will take place Wednesday, October 9th at 6:00 PM and Friday, October 11th at 8:00 AM
